Eric Mandret is a musician involved in schools in Maine et Loire and bass teacher at the music school of Chemillé.

He followed a Doublebass formation at the conservatory of Cholet, but has mostly developed his interest in self-taught music.

Passionate about organology and music history, he took advantage of his instruments to tell stories and reinvent our history.

Eric plays many shows tales in music solo, especially for children of nursery and primary school. However, it begins to create several proposals for all age groups on the themes of the history of music and world music.

In parallel to these activities, he played in several eclectic musical bands : Les P'tites Laines (tales in music), Copains des Bois (French festive song), HCM (gypsy jazz), Scroonch (jazz), Les têtes en l'air ( puppets) and Ox (French rock).

 

Eric Mandret is also a composer. His first pieces were for poetry. As part of the show "Quartier de plumes", he wrote fifty music to accompany poems from all periods. Then he branched into theater by composing music for several pieces of Théâtr'Happé company. He also wrote music for several short films including two stories: "the three musicians" in 2011 and "the old story" in 2006.

In recent years, he devoted himself to music in the tales. Meanwhile, Eric has written several pieces for solo instruments, small ensembles and orchestra, for educational purposes. (Some are available on the composition page)
